Some time ago I purchased Hilary Stagg’s Dream Spiral from Natural Wonders in St. Petersburg, Florida. Immediately, upon hearing this composition for the first time, I was moved beyond words by the ebb and flow of it’s simply intricate beauty. I gained a new appreciation for the soothing power of such music when my husband was diagnosed with multiple-sclerosis. On his return home from the hospital, I gradually introduced music into our nightly routine, letting the tape run as we both drifted off to sleep. Of all of the tapes and CD’s in our vast collection Dream Spiral was, and still is, the one we listen to most often. To paraphrase from the liner notes, it, “gave us comfort in our sorrow and in our despair we gained a new confidence and love” (Pablo Casals). To put it quite simply, Hilary Stagg’s Dream Spiral was a mental and emotional life saver. Hilary Stagg has certainly gained two new, devoted fans and Real Music has gained two loyal and (God willing) lifelong customers. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful product and for bringing such an array of positivity into our lives via this recording.

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with liver disease and was told by a number of doctors that if I did not get a transplant, I would die. After some investigation, I decided that a transplant was way too drastic and I would opt for it only as a last resort. I investigated alternative methods of healing, mostly nutritional and guided imagery. My guided imagery counselor always played your "Dream Spiral" CD as a backdrop to our sessions. Within 5 months, my liver was functioning normally and the doctors were stunned. Your music lends itself to envisioning and it allowed me to easily enter that part of my mind where the impossible is possible. I came to depend on your music to get me through the tough spots, physical and emotional. So, thank you for your inspirational, beautiful music.

I wanted to send you a note of appreciation. Your music has helped me more than you will ever know. Your music lends itself to envisioning, and it allowed me to easily enter that part of my mind where the impossible is possible. In time I could listen to Dream Spiral at home and do the imagery on my own. I came to depend on your music to get me through the tough spots, physical and emotional. I have since expanded my collection of your work, and I love them all, but Dream Spiral will always hold a special place in my heart. So, thank you for your inspirational, beautiful music.

...I have been suffering from severe depression for the last six months and it has really dragged me down. My wife gave me this CD for Christmas and it has really lifted my spirits. I am finally beginning to feel better and Dream Spiral coupled with a change in my medication has been a big help. I especially enjoy “Land of Oz” and “Heaven on Earth”. When I put my earphones on to listen to "Land of Oz" it just takes me away and I forget about this world for a time...

Dear Mr. Stagg, I want to share with you how much your musical creations touch the hearts of people you will never know. I seldom disclose my inner feelings to anybody, especially strangers, you have no idea of what I’m saying. I am in law enforcement in the Buffalo, New York area. My best friend and partner, his name was Mark, was killed the line of duty. He was shot by two men during a robbery. Mark exchanged himself for a young woman that the men held hostage. After 8 hours of negotiations, the men made Mark kneel down and they both shot him . . . I knew when he went in there I would never see him again, because when he left my side, he said he would miss me. He was right. Mark listened to ‘Dream Spiral,” I swear, everyday. He bought me a copy, and I play it every day. After 12 hours of high tension stakeouts we found out that your music calmed us down every time. When I felt like punching a hole in a wall I’d play “Heaven on Earth” or “Sunlight Returns” and I would feel human again. Mark was laid to rest in a nice place with 1800 people present. His badge, his academy picture, his girlfriend’s picture, and “Dream Spiral” was buried with him. The world will never know what it lost when Mark died. Thank you for filling his heart with peace, while he lived and now in his new life. Excuse the mistakes because if I took a minute to correct then I could not write this.
