Press Acclaim

The iRelax series, from Real Music, was designed to provide listeners with tranquil music that could be used to help one relax and reduce stress. Given the fast pace and endless demands that constitute our day to day lives, such an attempt is certainly welcome. iRelax Anywhere features selections from Real Music's extensive catalog that are soft and pleasant (and sometimes rather uplifting as well), and are equally useful for active or passive listening. Included is 2002’s ethereal "Even Now," which uses winds and vocal textures to conjure a dreamy atmosphere, as well as "Forever and a Day" from the always enchanting repertoire of Hilary Stagg and "Mi Angel," a bolero-like guitar piece from Johannes Linstead.

Now that you look around and see Windham Hill is a tombstone and Narada has been gutted, it's up to real to carry the ball as the last one standing and enjoy the fruits of building a catalog over the years that was new age but defied fashion and can now be repurposed for a whole new generation and whole new market. Pulling from label holdings, which include impressive performers and performances, they have put together projects to further their dominance in spa marketing. Sort of roll off projects that can be purchased on the way out of the spa to keep the experience going in the real world, these well tracks anthologies further the label's efforts in turning new age into girl friend music. Next time your gal gets her nails done, your gift giving quandaries will be made a touch easier with these sets around. [Review for both iRelax Anywhere & iRelax During a Busy Day]
