Liquid Mind XI: Deep Sleep

Liquid Mind XI: Deep Sleep

I remember many years past being told about Liquid Mind and the magic at the hands of a certain Chuck Wild. Now I sit here listening to the latest release full in the knowledge that Wild, as they say, has still got it!

Liquid Mind XI: Deep Sleep is an album that will aid you to do just that, it floats majestically around you like a peaceful cloud of great calm. Listen to the opening track called “Night Whispers” and allow it to soak you with its charms. I found this track very moving and at times deeply emotional.

Within “Teach Me to Love” was a composition that continued the healing process I was feeling; several memories of times past drifted across the battlefield of my life and I found that this composition started to ease those moments of sadness, and turn them into moments of peace.

The lengths of the tracks are all long form, between eight and fourteen minutes, and are absolutely perfect for this release and its goal, that is to enable deep sleep. We can slide into the next piece called “Dreamland” with ease. Wild’s skill and ability to produce such beautiful healing and restful resonances is utterly amazing and through “Dreamland” I felt a sense of positivity forming within the musical sphere created by the artist.

I can’t believe it was 1994 when the first Liquid Mind album was released and since then Chuck Wild has been giving his music to the world with a genuine purpose of helping heal and calm the restless mind. Liquid Mind XI: Deep Sleep is a testament to his cause, to his artistry and we must salute that. The title track is slightly lighter, as we ease further down into the realms of night peace.  It is like we are now very gently floating on a warm sea under a star filled sky, totally calm and safe, utterly outstanding and blissful.

Our penultimate arrangement is called “Renewal,” again its soft refrain continues the resting, healing experience and Wild’s music now seems to be almost like the stroking loving hand of an angel upon your brow; there is a slight ethereal feel to this composition, as well.

This constant reverie of beauty leads us now to the final track called “Compassion.”  It is also the longest on the release. This is incredibly meaningful, an opus to the love that is being shared so deeply here.  This is a truly emotive arrangement, but doesn’t intrude and only seems to enhance the overall encounter, and slowly, softly, eases you into a totally idyllic, deep sleep.

Chuck Wild can be proud of this addition to his series of Liquid Mind albums that we have all grown to know and love, and in Liquid Mind XI: Deep Sleep, within its soft arms of musical sanctuary, you can be certain that you have purchased an album of complete and absolute quality. Thoroughly recommended.
