It’s not new age, it’s not NAC, it’s not lite jazz, it’s not Jim Horner, it’s not Vangelis. A very skillful craftsman, Omar takes the best from each without taking anything from any of them and creates a keyboard driven tour de force that takes you somewhere else entirely. As comfortable as your favorite old chair but fresh as a spring breeze, these charming soundscape songs are like mini-movies for your ear.

A lovely impressionistic set that focuses on sunrise by the sea, Gandalf weaves a magical spell that provides one of the better audio getaways around. A strong set that hides it's power behind of gentle curtain, this sonic pleaser has no dead spots or noodling as it moves you along it's path. More global music than world beat, those that already trust him as a brand name won't be disappointed, those that are new will be enchanted.
A firm but gentle set from someone that spends his time in Sedona and crafts an audio vista that lives up to the set’s title well. A gentle stress buster of a harp fronted set that gives you the freedom to float through the realm of senses of your choice. Tasty, involving work that invites you to sail away for a spell and come back often. It’s especially nice to get a warm and welcome moment away from electronics and delve into some hand made, acoustic sounds that are delivered by a player that really knows how to connect. Top shelf.
The second entry in Kater’s new Elements Series, this is practically the spiritual audio child of Ramsey Lewis Trio’s “Songs from the Soil.” Opening with “Sunrise“ and taking you through “Sunset,” this well planned 60 minute set takes you thorough the days and seasons in a warm and wonderful style, and you don“t have to keep your eye on the clock to deal with that hour long massage, hour long walk through the woods, etc. There“s very little that is more enjoyable musically that a master at the top of his game.
Real Music shows off the string side of the label with a well stacked collection that reminds there's more going on there than great piano players. Tasty, snazzy set that opens the ears to the possibilities that are still out there for adults looking for some meaty music to get into.
