Elements Series: Etheria

Elements Series: Etheria

In 2009 I happily reviewed the first four albums of ten-time Grammy Nominated pianist and composer Peter Kater's Element Series, Air, Earth, Fire and Water and now, five years later, the quintessential finale, Etheria. The seven track recording not only lives up to its name as a collection of otherworldly atmospheric experiences, but also goes beyond the corporeal, allowing the mind to be free and open to daydream. More importantly, it allows the spirit a means of escape, a commodity more precious than gold.

Namaste Yoga

Namaste Yoga by Various Artists

Mind Stretching … Almost every time I hear the word Namasté, I am reminded of the scene in the movie Avatar where the Naavi acknowledge each other. They translate their words as “I see you”, but actually referring to an understanding beyond the visual. Such is the earthly translation we are given for Namasté; “I bow to you”, I acknowledge your existence, your spirit. The talented artists who have contributed to this collection bow to your physical and metaphysical health.

Flow

Flow by the Haiku Project

The Not So Silent World … My grandmother who never spoke a word of English, used to tell me that someone who spoke two languages was worth two people. So now I can understand why Flow, the newest release by Haiku, which has vivid color and delicate symmetry throughout his seven track ambient album, is so captivating. He is a terrific paint artist as well as a gifted composer. The combination of music and art somehow meld together here to produce an eloquently simple album of gorgeous atmospheres and lush soundscapes.

The Way Home

The Way Home by Sacred Earth

If your path is to find inner peace then I suggest you listen to The Way Home, a new release from Sacred Earth. The music is soothing, seraphic and sensual as flute, light ensemble and voice spiral thorough the universe in search of souls that might listen. The majority of the music has an Eastern flavor, but it is spiced with New Age and World genres that make it consistently appealing.
